A lovely small trinket box designed to keep that precious ring in. It is made out of plastic, but looks ceramic upon first perusal. The design is floral. On top is a pink rose with violet and blue flowers with green foliage. Around the sides are 7 separately spaced pink roses. Just above them is a gold tone border that opens up on a fully extendable hinge to reveal where the ring/trinkets will be stored. On the underside of the lid is another pink rose. When closed it is 4 by 4cms round approx and 2.7 cms in height. When open the storage space available is 3 by 3cms round and 1.2cms deep approx. without lid closed, with lid closed the depth inside would be about 2.1 cms in total approx. On the underside of the box is wrote OC & Co. with a crown on top and a rope roselle looping knot underneath the crown with the words wrote in between the loops. The design of the rope is similar to that of the famous Staffordshire potteries. However upon closer inspection this is unlikely to be the case. The loops of the knot when looked at from left to right go over,under,under,under,over,over. This should happen in reverse i.e under, over,over,over,under,under instead. Also there is no records of a company called Oc & Co. having existed in Staffordshire in any of the recommended literature on the subject. The likelyhood is that this was manufactured and imported from Asia (but not certain). However despite this probably not been from the Staffordshire potteries it is a lovely piece and would make a great addition to any bedside/dressing table.
